Why do we seek knowledge? Looking for answers in Theory of Knowledge

This week, students in Year 11, 10, 9 and 7 attempted to answer the question “Why do we seek knowledge?”. Not only did they consider why we want to learn now, but also why we will continue seeking knowledge in the future. After presenting their current term Design projects, the students discussed the reasons behind why people want to learn, such as for survival or a better life.

Why do we seek knowledge? This is a question that students in the Diploma Programme have to answer as part of their Theory of Knowledge exhibition at the end of their first year. The goal is to connect what they are learning with real life, and become critical thinkers in the process.
