St PETER’S SCHOOL, in partnership with the Blockchain Center of Catalonia (BCCat), has concluded the ambitious BlockchainXODS project, #AStepBeyond, in using this technology in education. Over two months, Year 7 students delved into the challenge of crafting sustainable solutions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals using blockchain technology.
This exciting project didn’t just teach students how to use blockchain technology; it also showed them how to develop it and integrate it with sustainable objectives. The presentations yesterday by the Year 7 teams not only demonstrated their profound grasp of this cutting-edge technology but also the effective guidance of their teachers, Joan Mauri and Artur Bosch. The winning team, The Remedic Headphones, showcased an outstanding use of blockchain technology to tackle global health issues, underscoring the students’ capacity for innovation.
Representatives from the Blockchain Center of Catalonia, Carles Agustí, director of the BlockchainxOds program, and Albert D’Anta, operations director, commended the high level of both the presentations and the technological projects. Agustí highlighted St PETER’S role as an innovator by being the first educational institution to undertake such a project, following its successful implementation in corporations and universities.
