At St PETER’s, we believe in the importance of teaching our students to reflect about their future. During this year’s Science Week, students were encouraged to rethink the processes involved in food production, transportation, consumption and packaging. In a world that is changing at a rapid pace, we want them to see the value of STEAM related fields as they can provide novel solutions to our planet’s short and long term food sustainability challenges. MYP students, in collaboration with their PYP peers, conducted experiments such as making edible and biodegradable packaging, measuring protein content in fungi, enhancing taste with sound, and many more. Combining scientific and futures literacy skills during this event made it a success.
