What is it like to be a parliamentarian? Is it easy to argue a case with delegates that do not share your opinion? What are the necessary skills when you have to speak in front of a large audience and defend a proposal that you think is crucial?
Last Friday the students from PreU-1 tried to find an answer to all these questions in this year’s first session of the Model of European Parliament (MEP). Specially designed for young students (PreU-1), the MEP is an European programme in which students have the opportunity to research diferrent subjects, give their opinion, present their own proposals and thus, become young parliamentarians for a few days, first at school, and later on, in Madrid and, if they are selected, in an European city.
The delegates from the different committees were debating extensively in this very first session of the year. It was just like being in the real European Parliament! Congratulations everyone!
