Can students solve the world’s most complex challenges? Last weekend, 177 delegates from 15 schools proved they can. Hosted by St Peter’s School and the Singularity Foundation, the 8th SMUN transformed Barcelona into a hub of youthful diplomacy.
A Glimpse Into the Future
Delegates stepped into a hypothetical conference, debating critical issues like autonomous warfare, post-pandemic mental health crises, and the fight against disinformation. Guided by protocols mirroring the real UN, students negotiated resolutions in English, sharpening skills in leadership, teamwork, and critical thinking.
Behind the Scenes
The event was led by university chairs from UNSA Barcelona and seasoned SMUN alumni, ensuring authentic diplomatic rigor. Sessions kicked off at Universitat Abat Oliba CEU and unfolded at St Peter’s School, fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation.
