Celebrating 60 Years of St PETER’S School!

Last Friday at noon, we commemorated our school’s 60th anniversary with a special
visit from Xavier Güell, Director General of Private & Charter Schools of the Generalitat
de Catalunya. He was accompanied by Antoni Tomás Moreno, Education Inspector of
the Generalitat de Catalunya; Yolanda Hernández, District Manager of Les Corts; Juan
Maria Tintoré, President of the Pedralbes Neighborhood Association; and Toni Segarra,
President of the La Mercè Neighborhood Association.

The delegation was welcomed and guided through the school by Jordi Ginjaume,
General Director of St PETER’S School; Josep Maria Ginjaume, Financial Director;
Lourdes Barceló, Pedagogical Director; and and Carme Escorcia, Head of
Communications. They were joined by the heads of all educational stages.

During their visit, our guests toured the school, engaged with students who presented
their projects, and reflected on the school’s vision.

Founded in 1964, St PETER’S School was the first international school in Catalonia to
use English as the language of instruction, embrace coeducation, and introduce an
innovative curriculum. Today, it remains a benchmark in education, recognized for its
outstanding student achievements and as the only school in Catalonia offering the full
IB Continuum in English across all stages.

As Xavier Güell highlighted:
“St PETER’S School is deeply rooted in Barcelona yet maintains a global vision, just as
its founders envisioned. Beyond excelling academically, you have the power to do
good—teaching future generations to work not just with their minds, but with their
hearts, for the common good.”
